5 Child-friendly Activities

By 5th September 2019June 29th, 2022No Comments

Summer is coming to an end, but that’s OK. It means that we have the joys of autumn to look forward to. Falling leaves, apple picking, Halloween spookiness, and dazzling fireworks – what’s not to like?

But there’s only so long your little one is going to be happy playing in a pile of fallen leaves. Check out these amazing activities and make this September one to remember.

Sky Safari, Longleat

Friday 13th – Sunday 15th September

Longleat’s hot air balloon festival (the UK’s biggest gathering of balloons, sorry Bristol!) never fails to wow visitors young and old. Led by Longleat’s very own lion balloon, there will be a menagerie of koala, cheetah, wolf, parrot, panther and owl balloons – as well as plenty of regular-shaped balloons, too. Each day there will be mass launches, tethered displays, model ballooning displays, and night glows (Fri and Sat only). Find out more.

Dino Family Raceday, Bath Racecourse

Sunday 15th September

Are you ready for a colossal family adventure? Kids will love meeting T-Rex, raptors and baby dinosaurs as they come to life at the races. There’ll be dinosaur ranger training workshops, mask-making craft areas, Jurassic photo opps, face painting, and a giant dinosaur egg to clamber into. Oh, and there’ll be a fair amount of horse racing as well. Find out more.

Fun Family Woodland Walk, Bathwick Hill

Saturday 21st September

This child-friendly walk will start and end on Bathwick Hill, taking you through woods, hedgerows, open fields and a nuttery. As you make your way along the trail, there will be plenty of fun activities and nature crafts for children to make and do, and lots of opportunities to stop, explore, forage and get dirty. The terrain isn’t suitable for buggies but is perfect for preschoolers with a sense of adventure. Find out more.

Big Fish Little Fish Family Rave ‘The Greatest Show’, Komedia Bath

Sunday 22nd September

If your kids have never been to a rave before, we suspect they’ll love it. This award-winning circus-themed rave will feature a multi-sensory dancefloor, glitter cannons, bubbles, balloons and giant parachute dance. There will also be craft tables, giant colouring mural, Play-Doh table, play area, ball pit and baby chillout space. This rave will be going off! Find out more.
