Welcome to Little Willows Day Nursery in Bath

Little Willows day nursery Bath is located in the city centre and first opened in June 2010. To add to this, it is owned by former Bath & England rugby player, Steve Ojomoh. Our day nursery is open from 7.30am-6.30pm Monday-Friday, 51 weeks of the year and offers care for babies & children aged 12 weeks to 12 years.

There are 6 main playrooms, two outdoor play areas, including climbing frames, a large sandpit, and undercover play areas! We believe that is is important to be environmentally friendly which is why we make the effort to recycle. Also, our dedicated on-site Chef “Geoff the Chef”, freshly makes all snacks and meals daily, using local produce.

Playrooms

In total we have 6 ages groups which are:

Seedlings (3 months – 15 months)

Our aim is to create a home from home environment, making transition from home to nursery as smooth as possible. We always work closely with parents inviting them in to breastfeed at all times. There are a number of activities available including messy and sensory play and a soft play area. Our ‘what have we done today’ window is filled out by staff during the day, offering information of what we are doing.

Buds (up to 2 years)

This room has two doors opening to the undercover garden, providing a free flow environment. We explore everything and encourage creativity at all times. There are various areas include mathematical, discovery, cost, and books.

Squirrels (2 – 3 years)

Children in this group can play inside or outside as they want to, allowing them to become independent. We help with potty training and we understand how difficult this stage is for all parents! Our team follow your routines and can use different items including various sizes of toilets, potties and changing stations.

Frogs (younger pre-school)

This group is for those who could spend two years in pre-school. There are two rooms which feature endless activities including a blackboard and a play area. Our key aim is to promote independence and we use a daily routine to encourage this.

Owls (older pre-school)

The group is aimed at those due to start school and they have their own purpose-built building. There are 18 full time children and there is a mini playground to explore.

As children are transitioning, we focus time on bridging the gap between the two environments. This includes allowing carers and teachers to visit as well as spending time looking at each child’s new school. School uniforms are available to try on, making it an easier process.

Club Willows (4 – 12 years)

As the newest addition, this is an after school club held on 3 – 6 pm Monday to Friday and during the Summer Holidays. During work weeks, children are offered an evening meal and there is a breakfast service available for local schools (7.30 am to 9 am).

Kitchen

We have a kitchen on-site and this is run by our very own ‘Geoff the Chef’. He has been providing fresh and local meals for years and always caters for each child’s dietary needs. You can view sample menus below.
