Nursery Practitioner – Full Time 2026

Location: Bath, Somerset

Salary: Up to £27,500 per year

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday, between 7:30am – 6:30pm)

Little Willows Day Nursery (Bath) is a private day nursery offering high-quality childcare and education for children aged 0–5 years. We are seeking enthusiastic, caring, and dedicated Nursery Practitioners to join our friendly and professional team.

About the Role 

  • Childcare & Education
  • Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities that support children’s development across the EYFS.
  • Observe, assess, and record children’s progress, using this information to plan next steps.
  • Create a warm, inclusive environment where every child feels valued and supported.
  • Encourage independence, positive behaviour, and a lifelong love of learning.

Health, Safety & Safeguarding

  • Ensure all children are safe, supervised, and their individual needs are met.
  • Follow all safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, safe environment in line with health and safety standards.
  • Administer first aid when required and record any accidents or incidents appropriately.

Teamwork and Professionalism

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver outstanding care and education.
  • Attend staff meetings and training to support continuous improvement.
  • Uphold all nursery policies, including equality, inclusion, and confidentiality.
  • Reflect on your own practice and take initiative in professional development.
  • Carry out other reasonable duties as required by your line manager.

Personal Specification

  • Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education or Childcare (or equivalent).
  • A genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their growth.
  • A positive, caring, and proactive attitude.
  • Good understanding of the EYFS and safeguarding requirements.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
    (Experience in a private nursery or early years setting is desirable but not essential.)

Lunchtime Cover Assistant – Early Years Setting 2026

Hours: 16 hours per week
Contract: All year round

We are looking for a caring and reliable Lunchtime Cover Assistant to join our friendly team in a busy early years setting.

The successful candidate will support the nursery during lunchtime by helping supervise children, assisting with meals, and ensuring a calm, safe, and positive environment. You may also help with basic tidying, cleaning tables, and supporting children with personal care where needed.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be warm, patient, and enthusiastic about working with young children.
  • Have a good understanding of children’s safety and well-being.
  • Be a team player with a positive attitude.
  • Experience in an early years or childcare setting is desirable, but not essential
