How are you planning to spend Father’s Day this year? Gone are the days when all dad can expect is a Lynx gift set. There are loads of ways to celebrate, with activities ranging from the high octane to the more relaxed.

The best way to celebrate Father’s Day is together. Here are some fab activities in and around Bath to show dad how much you care.

Father’s Day at Avon Valley Adventure & Wildlife Park

16th June 2019, 10am to 6pm

Head over to Avon Valley Wildlife Park for a dad-tastic day out. The whole family can have a go at quad-biking, bouncing on massive air pillows, pig racing, boating and more. Dads get in for £1 when accompanied by a full-paying child (and that includes grandads and great-grandads too). Sounds like a great way to show dad how much he rocks. Find out more

Bath Festival of Motoring at Walcot Rugby Ground, Bath

15th & 16th June 2019; Saturday – 10am to 5pm; Sunday – 10am to 4pm

If dad is a bit of a petrol head, why not let him feast his eyes on some motoring marvels? Check out the eclectic display of classic and vintage cars and motorcycles at Bath’s Festival of Motoring. Over this two-day event there will be parades, exhibitions, demos, and supercar rides. And if that wasn’t enough, there’s also live music, competitions and family activities to keep everyone entertained.Find out more

Top of the Gorge festival, Cheddar Gorge

14th to 16th June 2019

How better to celebrate Father’s Day than with a carnival of outdoor adventure, entertainment, inspiration and delicious local food and drink? Camp for the weekend or come as day visitors to make the most of the scenery and activities. Take your pick from foraging, climbing, yoga, axe throwing, dry stone walling and star gazing. And when you’re worn out from all that adventure, you can chill out with some live music at the end of the day. Find out more

Father’s Day BBQ Weekend at Whitehall Garden Centre (Lacock and Whitchurch)

15th & 16th June 2019

If dad’s got green fingers, a trip to the garden centre is always a treat. Add a Father’s Day BBQ to the mix and you’ve got a winning combination. The BBQ will be fired up at 10.30am, with tastings running from 11am to 3pm. There will also be tasting sessions in the farm shop and Father’s Day card making workshops on the Saturday between 10.30am and 4pm. And if you still want more, children’s pizza-making sessions will be on at the Lacock centre both days. Find out more

Bath Boules, Queen Square, Bath

14th to 16th June 2019

Cheer on local business teams as they go head-to-head in a boules-off. Tuck into tasty food and relax with a glass of Pimm’s (apple juice for the kids) while you take in a little taste of France. Find out more

At Little Willows we want dads to feel extra special. This year, the children will be busy making Father’s Day cards and presents for the special daddies and male role models in their lives.
